June 28

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 9:9-10

I was really amazed this morning to see and hear the stories of people and families who were visiting for the first- or one of the first few times.  Some were connected with the baby baptism and others just finally said yes to a friend or family member who had repeatedly extended an invitation.  What a great week to have someone join us and hear about God who engages people who feel far from Him!  Let's pray for more opportunities as we move through the summer.

Please share your stories of how God was at work in the COMMENTS below.

  1. Jen and I listened/watched from our phone using Livestream because we were on our way to Pennsylvania to meet Jen's parents for lunch. It was great to be able to see it live and we really appreciated when Reid welcomed everyone who was tuning in via the Internet. While that may seem like a small thing, it does make you feel more engaged in the service.

  2. Great to have Reid back!! Great to have Joe back! I got to experience the service as a "regular attender" and I was drawn into God's presence. God I look to you was/is a favorite.

  3. From Nancy...
I received an email yesterday from Janice Contestabile. She and John hosted the Premarital Workshop on Friday night into Saturday. The majority of the attendees had no church background or connections. This is what one participant shared:

"We wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to be one of the presenters for the workshop. We truly enjoyed it more than we thought we would and took so much away with us. The two of you and the other presenters made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. We now understand what has been missing and what is needed to make life more complete for us. There have been many people who have preached to us over the years about attending church and learning more about God but no one has ever made us understand the need to or the why. While I know your true intensions were not to recruit new members for the church I am excited to say I am eager to learn more and feel that Crossroads may be the best place for us to start. We hope and pray that we can continue learning and growing from our lessons today. We are very excited about doing our homework and applying the skills taught. We looking forward to seeing you again."
