July 5

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

For everyone who was traveling or not able to attend this morning- we missed you!  Its just not the same when our team is not together.  I hope many of you had the chance to watch online (Richard told me we had 20 different viewers online today!)

For everyone who was in attendance this morning what a great morning filled with God's presence.  I loved the worship set with the small acoustic team.  And I thought Jono was just great doing the call to worship.  Everything that team did pointed people to Jesus!

For everyone on our team I want to celebrate with you that one young woman, Carly, gave her life to Christ today right after the 8:30 service! Praise God!! I got to pray with her after she and her boyfriend came up.  She said today is my day!

I'm so thankful for all the ways you are a part of what God is doing.  Please share your stories of where you have seen God at work.

Amen Crossroads!

  1. Several members of the extended Adams family woke up early to enjoy the livestream service! We're getting some rest in before the Appalachia/Nicaragua madness begins! Plans are coming together great for all our teams and it's been gratifying to see new volunteer leaders be raised up and equipped to help lead the work. Jen Cassell is doing a tremendous job with the Appalachia work and Randy Miller is getting excited about some vision-casting we could do for a bigger group of folks within the church around our missions ministry philosophy. Good stuff from a good God!

  2. Speaking of vision-casting, our God continues to move in wonderful and extraordinary ways! His vision for us is broader than we perceive, deeper than we feel and more significant than we sometimes realize. I do at times really miss “Mayberry” and the simpler, relaxed atmosphere it represents. It’s also harder for me to see His vision for my life and how I am supposed to relate to the Body of Christ when I am hurried and fail to receive the rest Christ has for me. I appreciate the reminder from this message to remember from whom my rest and refreshment originate. It is only then that my mind clears and the haziness of a hurried life gives way to peace.

  3. Sunday's service was great! Jen and I attended the 10 AM service and were "on duty" to pray after the service. Shortly after walking to the front, a friend that I haven't seen in a number of years came up to say hi. This was a big surprise, not just because I had not seen him in a while, but also because I wouldn't have expected to see him in a church. After exchanging pleasantries, he told me that he moved to Florida after relapsing again. Once in Florida, he started attending a church and came to know Christ. He told me he is now doing the "Jesus thing" because nothing else has helped him. He is currently in Maryland visiting his fiancé and child. It is awesome to see God's redemption story in action, especially in the lives of people you know. Yay God!

  4. We missed the live streaming! Our family was away for some much needed recharging ahead of the monster Appalachia trip next week. I love the work He has done through us, and if you had said two years ago my wife would be leading our presence in a mission field, I would have said it would take a miracle only God could deliver. Well, guess what, He delivered and Jenn and I have been immensely blessed, but maybe most significantly to me our children have been transformed by their time in Gary.

Way back in Leviticus God talked about loving our neighbors. He has blessed us in so many ways, all of which give us an opportunity to glorify Him by serving others. Let's continue our end of the "bargain" finding new ways to use His blessings not for us, but to love on others.
