Baptism Sunday April 25

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Mt. 28:19

What a fantastic celebration this morning!  It is such a privilege to witness the life-changing faith in the lives of people we know and humbling to think that God has used us as part of the process.  Thank you everyone who played a role in making this morning happen!

There are so many God moments to share from this morning.  Here are a few... PLEASE share the stories from folks you know who were baptized today in the COMMENTS section so we can rejoice together!

- I got to hear the back story from Chris Howard tonight of how God had been working through so many different relationships and encounters all week.  Chris had been texting and talking with Don Dorsey about getting baptized and ended up feeling called himself to proclaim his own faith (along side Don!)  He even ran into Matt Michael in the changing room that encouraged both of them!  Way to go fellas!

- Billie Ward was someone who knew my Mom from Westminster Methodist church and could really relate to her story.  Billie has served our body in so many ways and today God prompted her to be baptized.  She really believes God is not finished with her yet!

  1. It was an amazing morning. I'm sitting here praying and thinking and wondering about the mighty ways God will begin to use us, to accomplish His will in the greater Hampstead area too?

  2. Renea Harmon has been going through a year of BIG changes. Moved by Reid's sermon on anger, she accepted Christ shortly afterwards. She has been learning how to parent from the heart from The Contestabiles and encouraged by the Herndons this winter. As a single mom of 3 (including a Downs Syndrome 6 year old), this has not been easy, but it has been good as she keeps inviting Jesus to transform areas of her life. Yesterday was the day that she proclaimed she was all His, so thankful and so excited that His love never changes, it never gives up on her.

  3. We brought guests with us, and I can't think of a better representation of who we are and what we are about as a church than this picture of life change (Baptism). You just can't program that or communicate it in a sermon. I guess that is part of the reason Jesus feels like it is so important. Jesus--the original programming director :)

  4. I thought Sunday was very special in many ways. One of the boys who was baptized at the 8:30 AM service, Jacob, was a first time attender. Jacob attended 252 and after hearing the lesson about baptism, he decided it was his day. Cool stuff!

  5. I am always amazed on Baptism day by how the Holy Spirit works! I feel very privileged to be back in the dressing room helping the ladies the Lord has called and feeling their nervousness, excitement and humility as they get ready to make their profession of faith. It is truly holy ground. God's presence is so evident and people are changed simply by being in His presence!
